10 Simple Steps to Healthy Diet

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food

Eating healthier food is not only great for our health but gives us long term benefits for our emotional wellbeing too.



1. Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

2. Choose smaller portions and eat more slowly.

3. Consume at least half of all grains as whole grains.

4. Choose chicken, fish and beans instead of red meat and cheese.

5. Reduce intake of baked goods that are store-made that contain partially hydrogenated fats. For example crackers, cookies and cupcakes.

6. Cook with oils that contain polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. For example, olive and peanut oil.

7. Avoid making sugary drinks during family gatherings.

8. Eat vegetables as snacks.

9. Put fruits in your cereal.

10. Frozen or canned fruits can be used when fresh isn't convenient.
